Bitter Sweet

We have been back home in Ga for about 10 days.  The move was definitely bitter sweet.  As much as Ga is our home, New Orleans has been our home too!  We have amazing friends, a church family, and restaurants we love.  We will definitely miss this unique culture that we have been apart of for the past 4 1/2 years.

Because we had Piper and so much stuff to move, Gavin and Lindsay flew down to help us pack up and drive home.  They are amazing friends, and have no idea how much they helped.  We definitely could not have done it without them!  Since we have been in Nola, Gavin and Linds have been regular visitors, and they have grown to love the city as much as we have.  We tried to enjoy our last weekend as best as we could, but looking back I wish we had done more.  It's ok because I know that we will be back to visit New Orleans in the future.  It will always hold a special place in our hearts!

The drive home went extremely well!  Lindsay, Piper and I drove in the Audi, while Gavin, Chris and the boys were in the Jeep pulling the trailer.  Piper was a champ!  She slept the entire trip, only waking twice to eat.  During the drive, she made her first visit to Chick fil A...it definitely won't be her last!

Sweet girl slept the whole trip!
Once we were home, we thanked Gavin and Lindsay for helping us and crashed on the couch.  It had been a long day, and unpacking could wait!  When we did finally start unpacking, it took a little longer than usual.  Most of the time we can unpack in one day, but this time it took us three...actually there are still a few things left to unpack and some boxes to take to the basement.

Now that we are back, it is so nice to be home.  There are so many things that I love about Ga!  It's great to be at our house, with our stuff, and for Piper to have her own room!

Tummy time in the boppy
Starting to get sleepy
The boys are so glad to be home and have their yard to play in.  Since the weather is so nice they stay outside all day.  Speaking of the weather, this is the first time we have been in Ga in the fall since we have been married.  We are used to the New Orleans hot/humid weather until November, sometimes December.  I forgot how amazing fall is...the weather is perfect, the trees are changing colors...I love fall!  With the weather being so nice, Piper and I have been walking outside almost everyday...gotta shed the rest of this baby weight!

Walking with the stroller at the park
Walking with the ergo carrier around the neighborhood...yep she's in there all bundled up
Even though Chris could get a call at any time, and we could be off on another adventure, we are going to enjoy this time that we have at home!
