We Are...

We weren't supposed to find out until the 18th, so we were definitely surprised when we were able to find out on Thursday!  We went to the doctor to pick up a prescription for my UTI (super common during pregnancy), and while we were there our midwife Elizabeth let us get a sneak peek.

A midwife is basically a doctor, but provides a little more personalized care before, during, and after labor.  At the office we chose, there are 3 midwives and several doctors.  The midwives rotate between seeing patients and being on call for deliveries.  Elizabeth or one of the other midwives will be delivering our baby, but if I have any complications or if I need a c-section, then one of the doctors will take over.

When we went to our first visit with Elizabeth, they did an ultrasound to see if they could determine the baby's sex.  I was only 15 weeks at the time and they couldn't get a clear shot, but they said that they were 75% sure it was a GIRL!  This time it was really clear, and we were super excited when they said that Baby Reis was definitely a GIRL!!

It looks like PINK and PURPLE are in our future!!!
