Over the past few weeks we have been updating the nursery. The once tan walls were painted a creamy pale gray, with the focal wall painted a dark raspberry pink...both colors were no VOC of course. We wanted something simple, but unique on the focal wall. So Chris spent some time researching wall decals. He found a guy on Etsy who could custom make us one for a very reasonable price. Chris emailed him the two animals that we wanted (the elephant Ellie and the giraffe Stretch from the pattern on the crib bedding), and he emailed us a proof. Once we decided on the size, we placed our order. The decals arrived a few days later, and we immediately opened the package and spent the next 3 hours sticking the pieces of Ellie and Stretch to the wall. It was a little difficult at first, but once we got a system down it went much faster.
Let me introduce Ellie and Stretch. They turned out super cute! I know the wall looks a little reddish, but it's really pink. You can tell more in the pics below.
In March, we ordered our crib from Furnitureland South in NC. Ashley Spann gave me the name of the company...thanks Ash!! They carry several brands at manufacturer prices, so we got an amazing deal! The weekend that we were in Arizona, our crib was delivered. Chris' mom graciously came over and let the delivery guys in, watched them assemble it, checked for scratches, and gave them the check...she is so sweet to always help us out! When we returned from AZ, we were so excited to see it!
We love it! The walnut rails match almost perfectly with the other dark furniture in the room, and the cream adds such a sweetness to it!
The crib bedding had been tucked in the closet for a few weeks while we waited for the crib, so we were so excited to finally get it out of the package.
We didn't think that we wanted such girly bedding, but we loved Ellie and Stretch! The raspberry and lime colors are so fun and playful!
Hopefully the curtains will be finished soon. We had them lined with a blackout panel, so we are just waiting to get them back from the seamstress. And our glider and ottoman should come in next week. Once those are in I will post more pics. After that we will only have a few pics to hang and some shelves to decorate. It's all coming together, and I'm glad since we only have a few months to go!!!

love love love the nursery! its beautiful!
