5 Months

Piper Mae, you are growing up so quickly!  Over the past two weeks, you have become such a big girl!

You have started eating food 3x/day.  You have oatmeal for breakfast, fruit for lunch, and a veggie and oatmeal for dinner.  So far you have eaten squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, peas and prunes.  You still breastfeed with your meals and also take 2 bottles a day (either breast milk or formula)...one in the afternoon and one before bed.

You really enjoy playtime!  You will sit in your jumpy and play for a long time.  Sometimes we will turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and you will smile and get really excited!  You have learned to roll from your back to your stomach when you're on your activity mat and in your crib, but you will get frustrated when you can't roll back over...I'm sure that will be coming soon!  

Yes, your hair is starting to grow...brown chickadee fuzz.

You have learned to grab for toys with both hands, hold them, and put them into your mouth.  Everything goes right into your mouth!  

You are becoming more balanced when you sit in your Bumbo.  You love sitting and watching the toy Nana got you for Christmas.  

Books are starting to capture your attention more and more, especially the monkey book and firefly book from Mimi.  You love the books "Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You?" and "Moo, Baa, LaLaLa"...we like them too!

Besides playtime, you still like to nap.  You are taking 3-4 naps a day, mostly in your crib, but you have fallen asleep in your pack in play while playing.

We know when your nap is over because you wake up talking and rolling around.  Oh, you have started talking more and more...ok it's more like owws and ahhs, but it's so cute!  You talk all throughout the day, but mostly to your toys in the mornings when you play.

You have gotten so big!  You weigh a little over 16 lbs, and you are wearing 6 months clothes.  Some of them are getting a little small, so I think you will be in 6-9 and 9 months pretty soon!

You are starting to be a little more active when you take baths.  We have moved you from the Puj in the sink to your Euro tub in the big tub.  You were a little uncertain at first, but now you like it!  We started giving you some toys to play with while you take a bath, and you like chewing on them.  I know it won't be too much longer before bathtime becomes playtime.

We have taken you to church (Waumba Land), the grocery store and out to lunch!  When the weather is nice, we like walking around The Avenue with you in your stroller.  You love your stroller because you sit up and see everything going on around you.

Lately you have really starting noticing the boys.  You love petting Kolschie, and especially grabbing his ears and eyes.  And Ty loves snuggling with you!

We love you, pumpkin!  You are so much fun and such a joy!
