I love the beach! And not just any beach, but Chris' Uncle's beach front house on Fripp Island! I have been going there with Chris since we first started dating. I have some amazing memories from Fripp, and it will always be a special place because that is where Chris proposed!

I know that this picture deserves a long explanation, but here's the shortened version. Basically I got hit in the eye teaching softball hitting lessons a few days before we left for the beach...so I had a black eye and a bandage over the gash that they glued back together. I had no idea that Chris would propose on this trip, so I was completely surprised! I love looking back at this picture because it was such an exciting moment in our lives...the beginning of something amazing!
Chris' Aunt and Uncle are always so sweet to share their amazing house with us. There is such a peacefulness there, and I always feel rejuvenated when I return. I like that we can now share this place with Piper. Hopefully she will grow up with some amazing memories of Fripp!
We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and immediately took Piper out to the beach. We wanted to see how she would react to seeing the ocean. At first she wasn't too sure about the sand, but she got more comfortable the longer we stayed out on the beach.

Our week at the beach was amazing! We had so much fun sharing in Piper's first experiences with the beach and the "pool" (the hot tub). Chris' mom came down for a long weekend, and it was great having here there. She enjoyed being with Piper, and we enjoyed getting some time to ourselves. We were able to ride bikes on the beach almost every day. We haven't ridden bikes since our honeymoon (5 years ago).
