Allie and I were talking on Monday about how the "trend" nowadays is to talk negatively about having kids. Random people will stop and talk to me in the checkout line at the grocery store or in a restaurant and say things like, "Get ready for your life to completely change". Now I know that they mean well, but the negative connotations are lingering in their voices. Don't they realize that life change is something that I desire. I have wanted to be a mom for many, many years, and the idea that our life is going to change because we are adding a little one to our family is such a blessing!
Through my conversation with Allie and a few other close friends, I have realized that motherhood is definitely a calling! It isn't something that I take lightly. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to raise up a child and teach her about the Lord. To share life experiences with her and how to value what God values.
Allie sent me this article yesterday, and it had such a great perspective on the very subject we were talking about.
